Ingredients
8 ounces sliced fresh mushrooms
1 onion, diced finely
1 cup finely chopped celery
1 can water-chestnuts, diced
1 tablespoon butter
½ pound best quality crab meat
½ pound fresh cooked medium shrimp, coarsely chopped
¾ cup mayonnaise (do not substitute)
¼ cup half-and-half
½ cup fresh grated parmesan
½ teaspoon seafood seasoning (such as Old Bay)
½ teaspoon garlic salt or powder
½ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon pepper
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
Topping
1 cup crushed garlic croutons
2 tablespoons melted butter
Directions
1-.Sauté mushrooms, onions, celery and water chestnuts in 1 tablespoon butter.
2-.Remove pan from heat; add crab and shrimp.
3-.Blend together mayonnaise, half-and-half, parmesan and seasonings; stir into seafood mixture.
4-.Spoon the mixture into a well buttered medium casserole dish, or individual casserole dishes.
5-.Sprinkle top with crushed croutons, and drizzle melted butter over the crumbs.
6-.Bake at 350 degrees for about 20 minutes, until top is just golden and edges bubbly.
